There are 10 ski accommodation items in the Rocky Mountains. There are 10 ski areas in the Rocky Mountains. Some of the individual ski areas are located close to each other such that they form a composite ski area called AltaSnowbird. Of the individual ski areas, Vail is one of the largest with 193 trails (pistes) and a vertical rise (base elevation to highest lifted point) of 3,451ft. Of the composite ski areas, AltaSnowbird is one of the largest with 205 trails (pistes) and a vertical rise of 3,241ft.
