Here are common questions and answers relating to Bolton Valley...

Snow Skiing Questions

The following questions were posted in Yahoo's 'Snow Skiing' category:

How's the skiing at Bolton Valley?

Full question:

I might want to try out that ski area in Vermont sometime this year, considering it's really cheap compared to most other ski areas in VT. Anyone ever go there? some info about the place I should know before hand? best trails?

Best answer:

Its been a while since I've been there but I had a good time. Its a classic New England ski area with several twisty, winding trails as well as open slopes. Spent most of the time at Vista and Wilderness Peaks only venturing over to Timberline Peak once. I don't think either of the quads are high speed though.

Who is the manager of Spice Valley Indian Restaurant, Valley Leisure Park, Bolton?

Full question:

Whose the manager of Spice Valley Indian Restaurant at Valley Leisure Park, Water Meeting Rd, Bolton BL1 8TS? Their telephone number is 01204388609.

do i need snowboard boots?

Full question:

I am going to go snowboarding at bolton valley in VT does the ski resort require you to wear snowboard boots or can i just wear regular snowboard boots

Best answer:

I presume you mean you want to wear regular snow boots and if that's the case...not only will the resort not let you if they catch you (and probably force you to rent boots or kick you out entirely) but it'll probably be the worst mistake anyone could ever make. Snowboarding boots are designed with a specific purpose in mind...support...support...and then water proofing. snow boots, though water resistant don't have the support that snowboarding boots have and if you tried it i guarantee that you won't get the response out of your board that you want and no matter how good you are...you'll probably snap your ankle sometime within the first couple of hours.

which on of these is closet to flushing?

Best answer:

I have seen it - but some of them WILL go Liberal Democrat, and some are lost causes as far as Labour are concerned. As for the rest...well,things are still pretty volatile. I expect things will turn out a bit like 1992 - when all the polls got things wrong.

Should Lib Dem supporters here choose between Labour and Tory?

Best answer:

One of these constituencies is right next door to where I live. We have a choice between Foxy Foster and Peter Walker's son. The likely result is that Walker should do it comfortably. So a Lib Dem must decide whether there is any possibility of affecting this result by voting for Foster. Certainly if you oppose foxhunting, this is a no-brainer. Worcester might be the very sort of seat to make the difference whether Cameron can govern alone, or whether he needs to go into coalition and on what terms. I believe though that the ultimate decision rests on the personal qualities of the candidates on offer. If neither Lab or Con offer someone as good an MP as the local Lib Dem, then there is little point in voting tactically. Only if they are all livable-with, should tactical voting be given priority.

Can the Lib Dems take the Tories target seats?

Full question:

There are some seats which the Tories need to take from Labour to get a majority. Yet an opinion poll today puts the Lib Dems just 1 point behind the Tories, with Labour languishing in 3rd place. (33,32,24). If this holds up, and with a small tactical element, some Labour voters going Lib Dem rather than Tory, then some of the Labour seats the Tories need will be taken by the Lib Dems instead. Bolton West (Ruth Kelly, Lab) will fall to the Lib Dems. So too would Bedford, Bradford West, Brighton Kemptown, Calder Valley, Cardiff North, Carmarthen West and Pembrokeshire South, City of Chester, High Peak, Hove, Milton Keynes North, Poplar and Limehouse, Portsmouth North, Sefton Central, Westminster North, and Wirral South. This would also see the Tories lose some seats to the Lib Dems: Basingstoke, Bournemouth West, Bridgewater and Somerset, Broadland, Cambridgeshire South East, Chelmsford, Congleton, Dumfriesshire Clydsedale and Tweedale, Eastbourne, Gainsborough, Harborough, Hertfordshire South West, Hexham, Ludlow, Meon Valley, Norfolk South, Poole, Reading East, Shrewsbury and Atcham, St Albans, Suffolk South, Totnes, Wantage, Wells, Weston-Super-Mare, Worthing East and Shoreham. I put Cardiff North in there for good reason. The vote share of the 3 main parties there in 2005 ALMOST perfectly mirrored their national vote share. Presuming the current polls are correct, and Cardiff North is a microcosm of the UK as a whole, then with the Lib Dems currently polling over 30%, they can poll over 30% in Cardiff North. The presumption is that the swing there is not from Lab to Con, but from Lab to Lib, because Labour voters are ideologically closer to the Lib Dems than to the Tories. Labour voters who think Labour will lose would settle for depriving the Tories of the seat, and disaffected Labour voters would have a natural second choice vote of disapproval by voting Lib Dem. The combined Lib/Lab vote in Cardiff North in 2005 was over 55%. Uniting behind the one candidate keeps the Tory out. Labour voters going Tory is unthinkable to some of them. This idea that the opinion polls may be right puts Labour provisionally in 3rd place there, so the tactical Lib Dem vote becomes a realistic prospect. This seat is notionally a Lab/Con marginal. On the basis of current opinion, it is a 3 way marginal, much as Brecon and Radnorshire was in the mid 80s. Clegg has led a substantially sized opposition party for a considerable amount of time. There is no law saying a party must serve time as the Official Opposition before it can be a government. None at all. There is no logic in any line of thought that says they must. In fact the Lib Dems have had more recent experience in government than the Tories have. They were coalition partners in Scotland while the Tories were almost wiped off the map there.

What do you think Arpaio illegal immigration sweep still set for W. Phoenix?

Full question:

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio will conduct an illegal immigration and crime sweep in west Phoenix today, even as anti-Senate Bill 1070 protests occur outside his downtown offices and jails. Arpaio will hold the crime sweep at 35th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road in the West Valley. "It’s business as usual for this Sheriff’s Office," Arpaio said. "All these protestors coming here from everywhere and the local critics aren’t going to change the way Arizona or this Sheriff will fight our illegal immigration problem." The Sheriff said he will continue to enforce federal and state immigration laws, including those aimed at businesses, regardless of U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton temporarily blocking police enforcement of SB 1070. Arpaio has conducted 16 previous crime and immigration sweeps in the Phoenix area in recent years http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/stories/2010/07/26/daily45.html
