How long does it take to drive from Kimberley, BC to Invermere BC? How many km's is it?

Full question:

Best answer:

It depends on whether you're going in the summer or the winter. If the roads are good, it's about an hour and a half. Use Mapquest to get a good map of the area. It's beautiful country up there and in winter the snow is dry. There's usually a Chinook in February, so the road is often bare then. While you're near Invermere, take a trip up to Fairmont Hot Springs. They're open year round and are a wonderful experience in the wintertime.

What is a better way to immigrate to Canada?

Full question:

I am pregnant and plan on raising my child in Invermere, BC, Canada. Would it be cheaper to: A) Pay for my immigration & have the baby in Canada and pay the hospital bills. or B) Have the baby down here (full insurance coverage) and have to pay for my immigration and the baby's.

Best answer:

is the babys father a canadian citizen? are you planning to get married? If both answers are NO then you need to apply to immigrate as a skilled worker 0 but you muts have a job that is on this list. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp#list jobs in demand http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp skilled worker visa If the answers are both YES then you must apply for the family class vias http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse.asp it is highly unlikely that your visa will have completed processing in the next 12 months so if you choose to have your baby in Canada you will be required to show that you can pay all the bills - and a 3 day stay in hospital costs around $10,000. As for your choices, I think option B will be cheaper.

Are there websites to find most gas efficient way to travel through towns in southern BC, Canada?

Full question:

These are the towns I want to travel to in no particular order: Princeton, Osoyoos, Summerland, Penticton, Oliver, Greenwood, Grand Forks, Rossland, Trail, Castelgar, Creston, Nelson, Cranbrook, Kimberley, Fernie, Sparwood, Elkford, Radium Hot Springs, Invermere, Kaslo, New Denver, Nakusp, Revelstoke, Sicamous, Armstrong, Vernon, Enderby, Chase, Westbank, Logan Lake, Kamloops

Best answer:

I visited a lot of those places last September on vacation, Revelstoke, Sicamous, Kamloops, and many others that aren't listed. When we were planning our trip from home, we used the Distance Calculator and Maps on the Thompson Okanagan website. It was helpful in planning the most efficient routes, as we did a lot of driving. Hopefully this helps!

how hard is it to move 2 hours away.?

Full question:

i live in invermere, bc, and im moving to banff, alb. which is 2 hours away. how hard is it, is there alot of stress.? i have the whole downstairs cleaned out and working on the upstairs. (just barely have time to write this) so ya, do you have to take like 5 trips to get ALL of your stuff.?

Best answer:

There is stress in just moving accross the street. if you know anyone trustworthy in Invemere you could leave some things behind to pick up on a later date. Yes it is four hours to go and fetch things but not impossible over the next few weekends on a day off. You may need to make many trips or just a few depending on how much you have and what type of vehicle you have. There is a rental place in Banff where you good get a larger vehicle for a day or two if this helps you out.The gas you would save plus time of making many trips would cover the cost of the rental. See if you can get some help just loading and unloading does not need to be the same person at each end.. The putting away part you can handle over time. Moving at any time is a pain in the (many places). Just remember you are only a phone call down the road from whatever.

Best answer:

I really need opinions on this, please it is important?

Full question:

So i am a sixteen year old female, i have had type one diabetes since i was four and i am very insulin dependant. My situation at home is very abusive, i get beat a lot and my parents are always in my face calling me down, theyre a lot into alcohol and some drugs. I am a good kid, its not like i disrespect them or anything.. i really cant take it anymore and things just keep getting worse, i have broken bones and im covered in bruises.. i feel so badly about myself and i contstantly think of suicide..i cant help it. I have the choice to move into a foster home in a different town, but i really really do not want to do that, i refuse..thats not an option im will to consider. Anyways, it is difficult to find a decent paying job around here, or one that is secure, and any apartments that actually are available are way too high in price. It would be impossible to move out on my own, work, pay rent, buy food etc. and finish high school ontop of all that, which i refuse to drop out of school since i have made it this far (grade eleven). Anyways, my friend Dawn moved away about two months ago to a town called Invermere, which is about an hour and a half drive from here, (she is seventeen).. her and this guy she is living with which is 34 are trying to convince me to move there (since they know how bad my situation is getting). I would be living rent-free, Dawn promised we would go to school everyday together, and we would find jobs.. and the guy (Don) told me that he would help me pay for my insulin and everything, and they would help me get it covered by blue cross, and he said i would only have to pay about 60$/month for my stuff after i am covered, and he knows this because he looked it up and he is a qualified paramedic. I dont really know how to transfer stuff, like switch doctors, apply for coverage, sign up for school or any of that... my MAIN worry is about being able to get my diabetes stuff, but they all assure me that everything would be fine.. im just so nervous. I know this sounds rediculous at my age, but really its my only way out right now, im so scared..and once i leave and move there, there is no going back to my parents.. so if things dont work, i have no where to go back to. It has gotten so bad though.. i have to leave.. do you think it is worth the chance? Should i go for it? I would try to leave sometime after sept. 1st (i have to go to Calgary that day to see the doctor) and i would try to take the bus there so i can start school on time, or not too late atleast. I would be leaving everything behind... What do you think? (I have no relatives i can move in with or talk to about this, and all three of my brothers dont believe me..nor does many other people because my parents put on a big show infront of everyone so they seem innocent) Thank you for any answers, i really appreciate it. I know its not easy, thats obviously why i am so nervous and scared, and why i am asking for others opinions. If i stay here, my parents are either going to kill me or im going to end up doing something stupid to myself, you dont understand what it is like here, and im not some spoiled little teenager. please, take my word for it.

is my mom being fair or am i being too pushy?

Full question:

i live in invermere bc. im independent a lot. i don't need to be the coolest person at school. im 13. but lately its been getting boring. i know alot of people would say 'get out more and get friends' truth is, i dont have any friends. its just that noone gets me. ive been trying to get my mom to move to banff, alberta. it would benefit all of us too. (my moms boyfriend) he works inbetween invermere and banff. (btw banff is 2 hours away from here).my mom doesnt work because of her injury. and we have been living here for 5 years. im trying to give her hints that i want to move because im afraid she would snap on me and ground me for life. ive been trying to conserve energy and cut down on snacks so we have more money. am i being too pushy or is she bot budging?? sure it sounds cool to see deer in your driveway like 3 times a week. but theres literally nothing to do besides hike. recreation center? no. swimming? 1 hour away. sports teams? none. shopping? one really expensive place.

Traveling by car at 34 weeks?

Full question:

I was invited to a cottage in Invermere BC this weekend with my boyfriends family, its is about a 3 hour drive. It is in the mountains and there is no phone reception on the drive up, although oncve we are in Invermere we do get reception and there is a hospital there (I checked) I am wondering and I do plan on asking my dr, Is it ok for me to go? I have been having braxton hicks and that's about it, I have not lost my mucus plug yet, Should I bring something for labor just in case?..I really want to go, and it doesn't look like labor will be coming anytime this week, wise decision or not?

Best answer:

It sounds fine if your doctor agrees. Unless you have a history of incredibly fast or early deliveries in your family then you can be comfortable in the knowledge that many first babies arrive after their due dates and it takes well over 3 hours to have them. If there is a hospital in your home town and one at your destination then you are really only at most 1.5 hours in either direction from one during the trip up. Enjoy this chance to get away and have fun before the baby comes. If you're really nervous then consider renting a car with OnStar so you can place a call in an emergency.

Invermere : http://invermere.com/

Best answer:

You need to make up your mind, because you can’t stick there for a long time due to your career. So, if you have got a better career opportunity to expose your talents and move ahead in your life then don’t miss such opportunities. Besides, staying in the same place will make you lonely and you might not be able to recover from that. So, just move ahead and outshine in the new opportunity waiting for you in Calgary. All the best! If you need a moving company to move your assets in time and at affordable rates, visit..

Moving to Golden, British Columbia?

Full question:

Before anywhere, Canmore has been the first place in Canada that has truly appealed to me and, if it wasn't for the house prices and rental rates, I'd probably be moving there a lot sooner. I've been looking into other areas including Invermere, Calgary and Lethbridge, and then I thought about Golden in British Columbia. If anyone could provide as much advice as they can I'd really appreciate it. Is Golden a similar town to Canmore and how do the two towns compare? Is Golden a prosperous area, is it easy to find work there, and how expensive or affordable is the rental accommodation and house prices? Is this somewhere you would recommend to a young immigrant coming from either Australia or Great Britain to start their life in? Are there any specific pros and cons associated with living in British Columbia or moreover, Golden, that you feel I should know about? Finally, is British Columbia a better place to live in than Alberta, and if so, feel at liberty to explain.
