When does the snow start falling in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia?

I am taking my family on their first skiing holiday in KG in three weeks time. It is currently 16 degrees over there, and not a snowflake in sight! Should I be worried? When would the snow usually start falling?

You shouldn't be worried. By the time you get there if snow hasn't fallen yet, it'll be made artificially. Enjoy your vacation.

Skiing in Slovenia?

I will be visiting Slovenia in December, and would like to ski. I know that there are a couple of ski resorts there - I have heard of Kranjska Gora and Krvavec. If anyone has experience of these resorts, please could you give me your opinions. I am a fairly inexperienced skier.

Hi there. As you said, Kranjska Gora could be a choice - it's my preferable, simply because it has a lot of additional stuff to do besides skiing - wellness, nice pubs, casino, other sports possibilities, concerts, events. There are other resorts too like Pokljuka, Pohorje, Rogla, Kanin,... but as I said, for me, Kranjska Gora is most fun.

There should be enough snow for snowboarding indeed, because they arrange top-level alpine skiing events (official FIS events) there in both Kranjska Gora and Maribor every spring! So, no worries about snow there!
