Song of Solomon 4:1 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead. http://bible.cc/songs/4-1.htm

One cannot eat gold. Sure, you can look real pretty wearing it, and make pretty things of it- but you can't eat it. Or wear it. Goats- can give us, milk, cheese, leather, wool for clothing, leather too, and meat. That can be more lovely than gold anyday.

Full question:

Best answer:

Sounds like a nice fish... I am curious as to why you'd want to sell it...if I had caught it, I sure wouldn't want to part with it. It would be a trophy on the wall. I'm not sure why the other posters on here are such jerks. Probably tree huggers that wouldn't last 2 days out in the wild on their own.

Is there a way to clean and mount my next pheasant by myself? ?

Full question:

I have always admired the beauty of the ring-necked pheasant. I want to mount my next bird but do not want to pay the high price at taxidermy.

Best answer:

Pheasants are some of the easiest birds to learn to mount. Get the pheasant mounting kit from Van Dykes. The worse that will happen is you will mess up the mount. Just start with a new skin; and if you skin it right away, you can still eat the meat.

Life is filled with remarkable beauty. What is the most beautiful thing that you have seen?

Full question:

Describe why you think it is so beautiful. Whether it is a fixed object like Mount Fiji, something that passes like rainbows or the aurora borealis, something that you see transpire like teaching a child, or something that is a reaction like leaves falling from the Autumn wind, make sure that it is something that is visible.

Best answer:

A beautiful, lush, green leaf(it was like a fern with huge leafs). It had just rained and the way the water droplets sat on it gave me the feeling of nature at its best, most tranquil, peaceful, thriving moments. It was so lush and vibrant with it's green color as small beams of sunlight hit it. The water droplets to me meant simple beauty at it's best. They way nature depends on itself to regenerate, i found some enlightenment in seeing that, for some reason.

Do you need any sort of chemicals to preserve a butterfly's beauty even after death?

Full question:

Or does it naturally stay like that? Most of the butterflies I've seen mounted on shadowboxes don't look like they're rotting. Their wings are as lovely as ever. Is that natural or are you supposed to use some kind of chemical, formula, to preserve its beauty?

Best answer:

Keep them in an hermetic, non translucent box, with a ball of naphthalene. Too much exposure to light eventually make their colour fade. The box will also prevents moisture, so prevent fungi to develop on the specimens. Finally, it is a good idea to put a ball of naphthalene in a corner of the box held by a few pins to prevent small scavenger insects or mites to destroy your specimens.

Can be Mount Kenya a World Heritage site?

Full question:

Is so beauty that I believe it can be, what do you think?

Best answer:

Yes not because its beautifull(it definately is) but coz of the culture and HERITAGE associated with it. For example the kikuyu one of the biggest bantu communities in Africa used to pray facing it and believed thats was where the first man gikuyu originated from. Several other communities living around it revere it and have many theories stories and superstitions about it.

what are the historical and beauty spots found in japan?

Full question:

please help me, is mount fuji one? its for my homework. tatsukete ne, onegaishimas ^o^

Best answer:

Mount Fuji is definitely one of the most important spots in Japan. Traditionally directions were given according to what side of the mountain things were on, instead of north/south/east/west. Nikko National Park is renowned for it's beauty and recommended to all travelers and locals as a "must see". The Emporer's Palace comes to mind, as well as the momument/park (sorry, can't think of the name right now) in Hiroshima for the atom bomb/people who died there during WWII.

Atheists, if the Bible wasn't true, how do you explain the beauty in it?

Full question:

Something that is evil cannot bare good fruit. If the Bible were not true, it would be evil. The Bible however, has such things as the Sermon on the Mount. Read that. It is beautiful. Name one person BEFORE Jesus that said anything close to as beautiful. Do not mention Confuscious because there was only ONE LINE that was similar. THAT'S IT. To compare Jesus to Confuscious is like comparing Michael Jordan to me because he was a basketball player and I once looked at a basketball.

Is this beauty dish worth getting?

Full question:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Strobies-Beauty-Dish-STR102-Flex-Mount-needed-/370359636406?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0 Im only 17, so I don't have much cash.... I have a Nikon D200 w/ and external flash to use it with

Best answer:

I don't think that is worth getting even at that low price. It is too small. While it will be an improvement over the regular flash it will not be effective to give a beauty dish look. A beauty dish works best when used close. A distance of 1.5 to 3 times the diameter of the dish to give the 'beauty dish' look . If further away it acts just like a reflector of that size. There are a lot of DIY beauty dish projects on the web. If you are handy you can build one. http://www.flickr.com/groups/strobist/discuss/72157623283725901/?search=beauty+dish+diy I would get a couple of umbrellas before I got a beauty dish. Buy a stand, an umbrella/flash mount and a cable or set of radio triggers. You will have a better setup that will give you more flexibility. Since you are interested in better light (good for you) check out http://strobist.blogspot.com/2006/02/welcome-to-strobist.html Lots of good information.

Towns for 'beauty disadvantaged' women ?

Full question:

We read that the John Molony, the mayor of the Australian outback mining town of Mount Isa, has invited 'beauty disadvantaged' (ie Ugly)women to come to settle in the town. Mount Isa has a woman shortage, their being 5 men to every woman in the town. Should more towns take this initiative to even the gender balance ? or is this just plain insulting to both women and men ? lastly do you consider yourself 'beauty disadvantaged' enough to go join the Mount Isan's ? For you, what is the essence of beauty?

Full question:

"And the true order of going, or being led by another, to the things of love, is to begin from the beauties of the earth and mount upwards for the sake of that other beauty, using these steps only, and from one going on to two, and from two to all fair forms to fair practices, and from fair practices to fair notions, until fair notions he arrives at the notion of absolute beauty, and at last knows what the essence of beauty is." ~Plato The quote is from Symposium. It falls with the speech of Socrates & he is retelling the words of a woman named Diotima, who, according to him, instructed him in the philosophy of Love. Here is another translation, which offers, in a way, a more specific meaning. "When his perscribed devotion to boyish beauties has carried our candidate so far that the universal beauty dawns upon his inward sight, he is almost within reach of the final revelation. And this is the way, the only way, he must approach, or be led toward, the sanctuary of Love. Starting from individual beauties, the quest fo the universal beauty must find him ever mounting the heavenly ladder, stepping from run to rung-that is, from one to two, and from two to every lovely body, from bodily beauty to the beauty of established ideas, from established ideas to learning, and from learning in general to the special lore that pertains to nothing but the beautiful itself -- until at last he comes to know what beauty is." I interpret this speech as a path to certain sort of enlightenment. In finding discovering the universal beauty, one finds a love of all. In climbing this ladder, or staircase, one is in a constant state of discovery. With every step, one finds new aspects of beauty and perhaps a new vantage on aspects in which one has contemplated before. As well, this is an apt metaphor for love of a more 'romantic' sort. There is always the initial beauty of another which attacts one to them, whatever form that may take. As we climb the ladder, or staircase, of understanding this new individual, one is constantly finding new aspects of their character. Which one will either find delight in climbing further or turn to seek another ladder to climb. I don't know. That's just my interpretation.

Best answer:

If you'll allow me to ignore all the Platonic discussions I'll answer your question as stated" For you, what is the essence of beauty". For me the natural state of something harbors the highest aspiration of beauty. A stone where a stone belongs and has always been is beautiful. The wildness of untouched wilderness strikes a deep chord in me. The silence of man and man made things combined with the cacaphony of natural noise is music in its highest form. Man can reproduce this natural beauty only by letting it be. To take this notion of beauty and apply it to the human form again I say go natural. Don't paint your face, color your hair, place undue stresses upon your mucles in order to enhance their size. Just live as you would and let your life shape and color your body. This is beauty. This is your personal history on display. This is the uniqueness that we all desire and yet cast aside for acceptance in a society dictated by fad beauty marks. Be yourself and revel in your own beauty. The essence of beauty lies in its essential, elemental being.

Why is your consciousness only attached to the matter that comprises your body?

Full question:

So, can you explain why your consciousness is only attached to the molecules that make up your present body? Why wasn’t your particular self-awareness realized into different life circumstances. Why weren’t you born with rich parents and endowed with extreme wealth, beauty, talent, and intelligence? Why did the molecules that make you up give you the sensation of self-awareness in this particular time in history? If you do believe in a God, how is it fair that one person is born into favorable circumstances while another is born into disadvantage? If you don’t believe in God, can you honestly tell me that you believe the self-awareness that you are experiencing now is only because of your Dad’s sperm and your Mom’s egg? Are you saying that you believe if a different one of those millions of sperm had been the winner you wouldn’t exist right now? Wow? Did I still get it wrong? So, are saying then that if sperm 1 million and 1 had been the winner you’d still exist but just be different? Okay, but that doesn’t explain why your consciousness is here at this point in history and why you didn’t exist 100 years ago or 100 years from now, does it? :) Okay, there is my question; here is what I think: Science would lose credibility if it were to say outright that we do not have a soul. However, it doesn’t recognize the possibility that we might be more than just atoms either. Science asserts that the brain is the focal point of our sensory input and provides the sensation of self awareness or what we know as consciousness; essentially purporting that matter organized in a particular way can be self aware. My question is: exactly how does matter achieve self awareness? If you were to lose a limb your ability to receive sensory input from that limb is also lost, right? Moreover, the limb itself is not self aware; it does not have a will of its own. If matter by itself can achieve self awareness shouldn’t part of your consciousness still reside in that severed limb at least until all biological functions within it ceased? Instead, people report what is called “phantom limb syndrome” where they experience the sensation of still having the missing limb attached. The matter isn’t there, but the sensation is - - wow? There isn’t enough room here for me to explain this premise, but I believe that life is the animation of matter and not matter itself. The closest parallel would be the difference between the dream and the dreamer. In the world of science only that which is measureable by our 5 senses is real and everything else, like the existence of a soul, is merely a creation of the mind. In the world of the Spiritualist, there are only two things that exist: that which is created by one’s own mind and that which is created by the mind of others and the physical plane is where the two meet. Put on your amour, mount your steed, and let the intellectual jousting begin!

Best answer:

I've been pondering that question for years. But to no avail. Recently I've bought a book on it, but it doesn't really explain it, it just tells about the parts of the brain that have to do with it. Truthfully, it's one of the main reasons I believe in a Divine Creator. But, Riddle me this, If a carbon copy was made of you in the future, atom for atom accurate, With your memories already implanted in it's brain, would it be you?

The beauty parlor that I opened for dogs is not going smoothly. Any advice on how to improve client relations?

Full question:

With the economy sputtering along, I thought that I would open a beauty parlor for dogs in my trailer park. I got some of those old seat hair dryers that Mrs. Lollins at space 33 was using for lawn ornaments, ran a line from the outlet outside my trailer, and got the rest of the equipment from Bobbie Lee Mason, who dropped out of beauty school on account of her getting knocked up. I named my beauty shop "Fantastic Fur", and had my first three clients today: Emily, a large and lovely saint bernard, Lady Greyhound, a...greyhound, and Oprah, a pit bull. I offered my clients some milk bones while I set up the plastic swimming pool for their shampoos. Well, when I turned back around after getting the water all bubbly, I caught Oprah doing this swishy walk, like she was making fun of me. I saw the other two stifling giggles, their tongues lolling out of their smiling mouths. Emily was so amused that she was slobbering uncontrollably. I chose to ignore them, and got the dogs through the pool, got the curlers in their fur, and seated under the dryers. I went to get the stuff to do their nails, when I heard muffled arfing, like the dogs were whispering about me behind my back. I whirled around in time to see Emily holding her foot up, paw dangling limply at the wrist, more or less casting doubt on my manhood! I was beet red, but managed to control my temper. I kept reminding myself that I shouldn't let the gossip of these bitches get me down. It was hard, though, especially when the neighbor's great dane came up behind me while I was working on Lady Greyhound's nails, and tried to mount me. I know I'm new to the dog beauty game, but I think I deserve respect. I was perfectly polite, and only got tipped in dog food. I hate dog food. How can I build a greater respect between myself and my clients? Any advice you might have is greatly appreciated.

At least you didn't get tipped in bully sticks D:

The Vatican City VS Mount Athos.......?

Full question:

For those of you who don't know what Mount Athos is, its one of the most holiest sights for Orthodox Christians around the world, a monastic community older than a thousand years that thrives on a beautiful island on the coast of Greece, full of monasteries that were built by kings, & monks who inhabit them. This video shows some of it's beauty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZlhcpk50dg&feature=PlayList&p=BBAE2214AE4BF45E&index=20 The question is, which one of these would you most like to visit, that is if Mount Athos wasn't only limited to male members of the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church

What is an Impossible Mission? one that compares to climbing Mount Everest but Less expensive?

Full question:

Hi everyone. i want to know what kind of Adventuriest Missions are almost 90% impossible. Kind of like climbing mount everest where death is a very high possiblity, only not as expensive, cuz mount Everest cost like 25 to $30,000, i want to go on a mission where it will be less expensive, but just as grueling and very deadly . Im in great shape, much better shape then the avearge, 25yo, ex Marine, still train hard, and ready for an impossible task. you might say just because im in shape that im not ready for such, well you see, im not expecting to come back home after the mission, i want this to be the last thing i will do in this world. you might call it suicide, but i dont have the courage to end my life on my own. Since i love the outdoors, i want nature to take me with its beauty and its pain. Im tired of the pain i feel from what happens in my life, i just want to be done with it. And if by some chance i do finish this mission alive, well then i guess ill keep living then:) Thanks everyone Peace

Best answer:

Hey buddy, Look at the mountains as redemption, not an escape. This sounds like this is a cry for help. I encourage you to go seek help; there are many organizations that deal with ex military and depression. You are not alone, and well all care about you but can't do anything over the web. And to answer you question, Everest is anything but an impossible mission. It is a buy your way to the top ordeal for the most part. With no experience, even a very tame, unimpressive climb will kill you. To die in an impressive manner, you need to have the skill to get to impressive places. Without experience, you'll likely die, but not in a romantic way. Please rethink this.

What do you do if a lavalier mic is killed by sweat on the forehead and you need it asap?

Full question:

We are doing Beauty and the Beast and Gaston keeps sweating into his lavalier which is mounted on his head. This in turn kills it. I've heard this is temporary but so far he has killed 3 lavs in 2 days and we're running low on spares. Would rubbing alcohol help or just completely destroy it? If you dont know what a lavlier mic is don't bother answering

Best answer:

Spray him with antiperspirant, and then put the mic on at the last possible minute. (I'd not kidding.) We used to do it all the time. Each time he comes off, lift up the mic, wipe him off, and spray him again if need be. I wonder where he is wearing the mic though? If he's wearing it on his forehead, I can't figure out how he is sweating into it.

What is the most beautiful place for vacations?

Full question:

Italy or Macedonia, greece? Last year I visited mount Olympus, Macedonia, Greece. The place which the Greek Gods selected for their home. This tells all about it's beauty. Moreover, the Greeks, especially macedonians, are very helpful and kind. Look: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/maps/europe/greece/

Best answer:

Hey Rasman! Good choices! I am from Macedonia, Greece and I live Thessaloniki. You should come and see the archaeological and byzantine museums. Or even the White Tower, Kamara (Arch of Galerius) and the big shop streets. If you want something more quietly, there is the countryside and the beaches. -Macedonia has many mountains and valleys. Since you visited M. Olympus I suggest you Dion, the place where ancient Macedonians worshiped Gods is in Katerini. It is on a big valley, in a forest. Take a look at these two pictures: http://www.filoxenia-hotel.gr/images/filoxenia_beach/dion/dion_arhaia_133.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_dx1YZKlma-w/SWw-_7qSo8I/AAAAAAAAABA/Buqka_tedbk/s320/dasos+sti+katerini.jpg -(C)Halkidiki has one of the most clean beaches in the Meditteranean Sea. If you're planning to go there, choose the third narrow place or "foot" as we call it. There is the Holy Mount Athos where only men enter. It is full of peace and beauty. If you are not a man or you just don't want to visit Mount Athos, you can visit a point above it. There are two great villages: Nea Roda and Ierissos. I cannot describe them to you, I have no words. Just take a look at these two pictures and you will understand: http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/9781830.jpg http://chalkidiki-hotel.com/images/chalkidiki/Nea%20Roda/Hotel%20Alexandra/260/Nea%20Roda%20Beach.jpg If you want to see something more about Macedonia, you can google it. I just showed you the places I've visited and I love! I hope you'll have a great time wherever you'll go! Greetings from Greece! =)))

Christians, do you think the beauty and wisdom in the Bible is a sign it is from God?

Full question:

The Bible has so much wisdom in it I believe it is intellectually dishonest to say that it was not inspired by God. For example, read the Sermon on the Mount. Wiser words have never been spoken in world history. What are your thoughts? Thank you. :) Edit: I agree. Jews are misinterpreting when they claim Jesus did not fulfill the prophecies. Jews misintrepret the Old Testament.

"Nepal is one of the most fabulous tourism destinations in the world." Want to experience? ASK EVERYTHING.

Full question:

If I don't call Nepal a hidden beauty beyond the "curtain of development" of the world, I think, it would not be a fair judgement. Despite the fact that Nepal has the richest natural beauty, artistic historic hetitage, culture and so many other tremendously attractive properties, it has, must say unfortunately, been very backward in tourism. It's true that thousands of tourists visit Nepal yearly, but it is not sufficient if we want to make a good proportion of the resources and achievement. A bitter truth is fraud gossippings are the very causes of this situation. Please study about Nepal, know it better, and weigh its value yourself. That will certainly make you self convinced with your decision while making an undecided plan, going further with an specific option and ultimately going to the heavenly land of Lord Buddha, Mount Everest and other indefinite awesome properties. Experience the real mountain, wildlife, rivers, culture, language and unique life styles. WELCOME TO NEPAL.

Best answer:

Nepal is definately my next destination becos of flora especially orchids. I am just curious if the authorities over there allow you to take plants out of the country.

Ramadan: The beauty of tenderness?

Full question:

The following instances will demonstrate some aspects of the Prophet's remarkable tenderness: (A) He would quicken performing Prayer upon hearing an infant crying, in consideration of the mother's anxiety about her child. (B) He once stopped the advance of an army out of concern for a bird grieving for its babies that had been captured by some soldiers. The army resumed its advance only when the baby birds were returned to their mother. (C) He avoided direct, face-to-face reproach. He would rather say something like "What about those people who feel too proud to do something that I myself do?" (D) He indulged children and joked with them. Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reportedly said, "The Prophet used to mix with us [children] to the extent that he would say to a younger brother of mine [bantering him], 'O Father of `Umayr! What did the birdie do?'" (Al-Bukhari). (E) He approved and allowed for recreation in his own house. `A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) was reported to have said, "I used to play with dolls in the Prophet's house, and my girl peers also used to play with me. Whenever the Prophet entered [my dwelling place], they would hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me" (Al-Bukhari). (F) He reportedly said, "None of you should say, 'My soul has become evil,' but he should rather say, 'My soul has become remorseless'" (Al-Bukhari and Muslim). Ibn Hajar, in Al-Fath, quoted Al-Khattabi as saying: Evil and remorseless are close in meaning, but the Prophet disliked the evil adjective and opted for the safer expression remorseless. Indeed, it was his habit to substitute an unpleasant name with a more refined one. This hadith implies that unpleasant vocabulary should be avoided. The point here is that avoiding an expression like "My soul has become evil" is an act of tenderness toward oneself. (G) He was keen on honoring his wives and treating them tenderly. For example, he used to offer his knee for his wife Safiyyah to step on it whenever she wanted to mount a camel. (H) He preached the divine "tenderness" to people. He was reported in a hadith to have said, "When Allah had finished His creation, He wrote over his Throne: My Mercy predominates My Anger" (Al-Bukhari and Muslim). http://www.islamonline.net/servlet/Satellite?c=Article_C&cid=1265890502356&pagename=Zone-English-Living_Shariah%2FLSELayout wa alaykom assalam wa rahmato llah wa barakatoh

Have we painted ourselves an illusory Eden? Or has Eden merely usurped simple beauty? A poem?

Full question:

Your thoughts and critiques of this poem would be much appreciated: The Histories When all the world begins anew its verdant cares, Brilliantly agleam amid the starry stream, And the children of nightfall rush forth to kiss all But lightly the rosy cheeks of dawn, splendidly Shall its crown pierce the darkened shore, evermore. Upon the ancient shore there rang the gentle call, Pleading with men and gods alike, that folly should Never overtake wisdom, envy usurp love, And take its nuptial throne for its emerald perch; That men should wield mortality as the blade That sundered us from the ethereal moor—alas! O, how Olympus roared with mockery at her Celestial rival, as wisdom lazed, usurped. From Milton was espied hunger and depravity: The world slept, the mists of creation about it Wrapped as a babe swaddled in the heavenly field; Mountains shuddered in the deep, their stony girths and Peaks draped in shadow, slumberous in the waters Of Heaven spilled; its feral oceans surged and roared. From chaos was borne its valleys, its fields and mounts, Rivers that snaked through thicket and bramble, founts that Leapt and geysers that roared; the sun shone and the moon Wavered; the heavens found favor in its beauty, and blessed it. O, that the first day should bear such unhappy fruit, And man pluck it from its evergreen boughs, to eat Of it; Heaven but a ceiling in this new cell. Man first awoke to heavenly song and lyre, graced, Yet was sent hence into the barrenness with flame. Accursed father of the blessed realm! Beloved! Of Heaven hewn, with immortality’s subtle sigh Were you cast from the remnants of that noble rank, The star crowned upon your emboldened brow, subdued. Into the wilderness you crept, solemnity And woe about your shoulders, draped, and worn as a A king dons authority’s gown; how wretchedly Has wisdom proven its eternal shadow, lengthened, Darkened by folly’s hand; stained with a serpent’s guile. The earth shudders and heaves beneath this tormented soul, And weeps soundly at its imprisonment, its dues. What of the woman, that which stole man’s gentle hand? Deep has been her woe, as is the scorn placed upon her. Heaven shook with sorrow as this docile fawn was Swept upon the embankments of Fate, and abandoned There, her femininity sundered upon the shore. Innocence forsaken for the consumption of Thought and reason, of mind and heart! Love left estranged, Abased before envy and lust and death, those Gluttonous gifts to mortality, from He bequeathed. Her love was green, her innocence all the more so. Cast from Eden’s darkening bower was this maiden, Morality was stricken from its timeless moor; The whole of womanhood bears her chaste rebuke. Expulsed from Eden as a child is forced from the womb Were mankind’s first forbearers into the desert sent. The arms of Heaven, gilded and pale, with fire and steel, Solemnly gazed upon mortality’s image, Never to endure its wicked visage to pass; Its hallowed road sealed with shadow and flame. Angels were left to tend its gardens, prune its boughs, Where first man had upon its earthy loam, knelt, To praise the radiant sun and dawn, and toil In its sight; how all was grafted and burnished once By mortality’s tireless hands the heavens shall Forever marvel, for now all but man walks Its moonlit lanes, its shadowed paths; now forgotten By mortal minds. __________________________________________ HH: I am not responsible for your lack of an attention span.

Have you taken inspiration, not just from Milton, but from Blake's readings of Milton? This is a fascintating poem full of wonders, and I esteem it with your better poems, among the small sample that I have read. There is manifestly a great deal of thought in this poem, which indeed subsists quite close to the surface, albeit rarely blazoned with rhetorical trumpets. `Feral oceans' makes for an interesting view of creation from chaos; `Heaven but a ceiling in this new cell' is striking as it is mournful; and there is a wonderfully perverse creativity behind lines such as, `that the first day should bear such unhappy fruit/and man pluck it from its evergreen boughs.' Very Blakean elements include this type of pickiness about creators: `accursed father of the blessed realm,' and particularly the gross connexions among reason and materialism: `innocence forsaken for the consumption of thought and reason.' I would be fascinated to see how far into the story of man you intend to take this. I see, however, why this poem may not have been easily received: it is highly uniform in voice, and albeit having the backstory of epic, modally, is poetic commentary. It becomes the reader's responsibilty to carry the story forward based on the speaker's disdainful interpretation of what he perceives to be a tale of folly: this is in large measure the difficulty in Blake as well. As in later Blake, the spices that enliven the tale are a bit subtle, and because the poem does not sell itself to every reader, as Milton tries to (with whatever measure of success), it seems to be a bit of a boutique poem. For me, as a reader, this is no problem for 65 lines of verse, or even for 650 lines of verse, if the momentum can carry the commetary that far into new territory. (Incidentally, I love the irony of your thirteen line stanza.) If it were an epic, however, it would be recommended to use every device available to engage the reader, because (as seventeenth century commentators on poetic forms would say) the epic strives to convey the whole canvas of heroic life, and derives its nobility from the necessity of every poetic technique to do so. However true this is, you only need practice specific poetic crafts in poems whose rhetorical aims require them-- as meta-narrative poetry, I found this a pleasing composition to read. I should say, I have trouble seeing a poem like this written after 1815 or so-- it seems to me that after Wellington's victory at Waterloo, or after Darwin if you would like, or after Bentham, the debate about good and evil somehow changed, so it seems perhaps you are fighting a dragon many do not realise is still alive. A knightly pursuit, but another reason the poem may need to fight if it wills to be for everybody. With my compliments--
