Here's some points to take into account and make an attempt to rebut: 1. People are going to smoke pot whether the government wants them to or not. They are not going to not do it just because it's illegal. 2. It would mean less deaths and injuries. Most street killings involve drugs. There are battles and confilcts with dealers and clients, as well as opposing dealers. It would save the police time and money. 3. Less crowded prisons, less taxes for you. There are so many people in prison because of just possesing pot. They have to be given meals and shelter. This is a purden on the taxpayer and can ruin a young person's life. 4. It does not affect anyone other than the person taking it. It should be illegal in public, but not in a private home. An adult can make their own desicion. Some people argue that it is to protect people from hurting their bodies. Does this mean we should outlaw knifes? 5. MJ should be regulated and taxed. Right now, street dealers are making all the $. Also: -Studies have shown some beneficial effects of marijuana, including preventing alzheimers. there are lots more reasons to legalize. The FBI has lots and lots of agents assigned to preventing the smuggling of drugs and fghting the war on drugs. Those agents could be reassigned to the more important cases which involve terror plots on American soil.

And you're saying this wouldn't help people doing it at all?! look a the people who drink alcohol, or smoke cigarettes to the number of people who smoke marijuana. people don't want to get caught. 2. B: that's like saying that lightning yourself on fire is a good idea because it keeps you warm. You're not looking at the cons of the situation. this drug endangers your health and harms your intellectual system. 7: FBI agents as stated earlier, marijuana is not the only drug, FBI agents will still be combating the war on drugs, just different drugs, and to combat the followup argument (that we should legalize other drugs) That's just not logical. these illegal drugs are illegal for a reason. are we going to challenge our government?
