What size snowboard should i have if i a 56kg and 159cm tall (short)?

Full question:

i am a beginner and will be on the wakapapa and turoa ski fields.

Best answer:

Most beginner riders when buying a board for the first time will be told to go for a board that when held upright with the tail touching the floor, the nose of the board should come somewhere between your nose and your chin and that is the right length for you. For a beginner rider this isent a bad system to use as you wont have a preference yet for weather you like longer or shorter boards this only comes with experience and riding. Although i would advise all begineer riders to go for a board on the small side (ie not above your nose ) as it will be easier to turn and contol while learning. Based on you hight and weight id say around a 150 would be a good size for you. Some good begineer boards that would suit you and your level of riding are K2 Skyla, Sapient Fluid, Ride Vista, Burton Feather. All these boards are All mountain boards and can be used for all types of riding and despite being entry level boards are all quite progressive also so should last you a while. Good luck
