I'm not too sure about how receptive society was, but I know that Vogel made the economy worse then it was already. Although, it improved in the long run due to the immigrants and better transport. I dont really know for sure, but I'm guessing Maori were against the scheme because the immigrants were european so they outnumbered Maori. So settler society would have liked the scheme because it would have given them more power. If you're looking at New Zealand society as a whole there would be so many mixed views. Some parts of society would have been more receptive then other parts.

What would you consider to be the 3 major climaxes of Paula Vogel's "How I Learned to Drive"?

I'm doing a project on this play for school, and am having trouble distinguished the three major climaxes. I have a couple ideas but were wondering if anyone else is familiar with it and could give me some advice.

I've been in this play, and was very lucky to meet Paula Vogel (not bragging, I just love her!) and be able to discuss the play with her. And from what Paula discussed with the cast, there are many climaxes in the play. For me, though, I'd have to say the three climaxes for me were "Peck's fishing monologue" because it shows that Li'l Bit was not the first in the family Peck wanted to be with, and shows how cunning Peck can be. Especially at the end of the monologue where he was trying to make BB feel more grown up, as BB it is accepted, did not have a father figure. "BB...Bobby...Robert." Shows that Peck is trying to get BB to feel comfortable with Peck so Peck can be with him. Scene gave me chills every time the actor did that. Second, I'd have to say the "Aunt Mary's monologue" was heartbreaking. Here is a woman trying to pretend all is well with her husband, talking about shoveling and gifts he's given her. And then in a burst of honesty, starts talking about how she knows about what is going on between her husband and niece. And she doesn't really want to acknowledge her husband is a pedophile and sort of blames it on her niece. And then thinking her husband will snap out of it. It's a scene that shows that not only L'il Bit as a victim, but Peck's wife a silent one as well. The final climax for me was when Li'l Bit and her mother were talking about why the mother did not want L'l Bit to go with Peck at the end. The mother thought something bad would happen and then relented because L'il Bit was whining. Then the scene goes straight into the first time Peck made advances to L'il Bit when she was a child and had her take the wheel of the car while sitting in his lap. Also, the hotel room scene with L'il Bit and Peck and The Male and Female Greek chorus is a climax as well. Personally, those three scenes for me were climaxes for me. Also, Paula Vogel talked alot about Peck's fishing monologue, and I think that was written to be a climax. I hope this helps any. I'm tired and I can on and on. I hope what I wrote makes at least some sense. Break a leg on your project!

No, he shouldn't be fined because its 100% true, even Stern acknowledged flopping was a problem. Phil Jackson has done this in the past, calling out the refs. Vogel didn't degrade the refs in any way, he simply called out the Heats flopping which has been ridiculous this season. It's something that needs to be addressed because it's ruining the NBA. It makes guys virtually untouchable, certain guys like Wade, LBJ, and Westbrook barrel down the lane hoping for a foul to bail them out which they get most of the time. The refs need to take responsibility for these idiotic foul calls, they KNOW it's a flop but continue to make these calls. It's not like they don't watch tape on these flops either, teams send the league videos of missed calls and blatant flops, the refs know which guys are notorious for it.

The classic way to do this is to wet them thoroughly, then wear them until they are dry. Once they are dry, treat them with a preservative or conditioner, like perhaps mink oil if they are smooth leather. Anything you do to speed up the process, though, will probably shorten the life of the boots.

Don't use it! I was just reading reviews about it on Makeup Alley this morning and the comments about the customer service and the products are really bad! Supposedly the liners don't even glide and the products and packaging look really cheap - like the stuff that little girls play with. People also have complained that the video is more like an informercial that glorifies the 80's prom queen look. I know that 80's clothes are back in, but not the makeup! Also that is not a professional look or even a sexy look that many would want to have. One reviewer said that she called customer service and that they were really rude to her and that she even went so far to call the shipping company, which then told her that her products were not shipped. When she finally got them six calls later, they were wrong and they were really poor quality. Another reviewer said to check out ripoffreport.com. I checked it out and there are tons of complaints about multiple credit card charges and poor quality products. In short, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! You are much better off going to see a professional makeup artist in person and seeing the products used on you before you buy them.

Remove from heat. Sprinkle yeast over; let stand until foamy, about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, combine 2 1/2 C all purpose flour, whole wheat flour, oats, bran and salt in large bowl of electric mixer fitted with dough hook. Add milk mixture; mix on low speed until soft dough forms, about 2 minutes. Add 1/2 C more all purpose flour; beat at medium speed until soft and pliable, about 10 minutes. Turn out dough onto floured surface. Knead until smooth and elastic, adding more all purpose flour if too sticky, about 3 minutes. Place dough in lightly oiled bowl; turn to coat. Cover bowl with plastic wrap, then towel. Let dough rise in warm draft-free area until doubled in volume, about 1 hour. Lightly oil 9x5-inch loaf pan. Punch down dough; let rest 10 minutes. PS I'm glad you pointed out that you have those things on separate pieces! PSS make sure your jam is not full of fake sugar, which is worse for you than the real thing.
