There are 37 ski areas in British Columbia. Some of the individual ski areas are located close to each other such that they form a composite ski area called Whistler-Blackcomb. Of the individual ski areas, Sun Peaks is one of the largest with 122 trails (pistes) and a vertical rise (base elevation to highest lifted point) of 2,943ft. Of the composite ski areas, Whistler-Blackcomb is one of the largest with 200 trails (pistes) and a vertical rise of 5,354ft.
