Overview

Alta is a ski area located in the Wasatch Mountains about 45 minutes driving time east of Salt Lake City.

Alta is one of the few remaining ski resorts in the world that prohibits snowboarders.

Alta and Snowbird offer a joint day pass and a joint season ticket, allowing skiers to fully access all of the terrain on both mountains.

Alta has a quite a good vertical rise (2,021ft). As a guide, skiers will typically stop 3 or 4 times when skiing top to bottom. Alta has a good range of terrain for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. With an amazing 116 trails, make sure you get hold of a trail map before you set out.
