Alpine SkiingAnzère has 40km of ski trails, 12 ski-lifts function between 1500 and 2500m altitude. First snowfall usually comes first days of December which marks the beginning of the skiing season. Ski-lifts function everyday until the end of Easter Holiday. Part of the domain is covered by snow blowers. The terrain is specially suitable for intermediate skiers. There are 3km of easy trails for beginners. Expert skiers will enjoy the 5 km « black trail » to perform their skills on a 2km of mogul slopes. Powder snow fans and extreme skiers seeking sensations outside secured trails are advised to observe weather conditions and safety precautions. A permanent competition trail where numerous competitions are organized, which also serves as training ground for competition skiers. The Ski and Snowboard School is staffed with qualified instructors (up to 50 during high season). Group lessons and private instructions are provided. Weekly competition as well as special animated events are organised. Children are accepted from the age of 4. The Glycerine School (ski school) also provides ski, telemark and snowboard lessons, for groups or individuals. Cross Country SkiingThe "Go" cross-country trail winds through 5km of larch and fir forest, with a section on a vast unobstructed open space. This easy trail is ideal for beginners. The Swiss Ski School conducts private lessons in crosscountry skiing. SnowboardingSnowboarding is another popular sport in Anzère and continues to attract more and more fans. Slopesare wide and well kept, which integrates in harmony with skiers. The SWISS SKI AND SNOWOARD SCHOOL organises group and private lessons as well as weekly competitions. THE GLISSE GLYCERINE SCHOOL also offers snowboard lessons for groups and private individuals. A Snowpark and a Boardercross are specially reserved for Freestylers. Heli-SkiingThe Swiss Ski School and its licensed guides organise HĂ©liski at Wildhorn Glacier (3247m). with 2 to 3 hoursof down hill skiing. (ideal condition require - weather - safety). SledgeThe superb 3.1km sledge trail winds through forests and open spaces in a magnificent surrounding. Underoptimum snow and weather conditions, this run takes about 10 minutes to sledge down. In “Les Rousses” , a second trail beside the ski slope drives you from the middle station of the chairlift to the bottom (3 km). Snowshoe Trails12 km snowshoes trails to discover the mayens and the wild part of the Pierrier des Rousses. 3 marked out routes : le sentier des Mayens (departure cable car station), le sentier des Braconniers (departure middle station of the cable car), le Pierrier des Rousses (departure chairlift les Rousses). Ice Skaing RinkAn ice rink is situated in the middle of the village square. Every thursday evening, a disco is organized for the children on the ice rink. ParaglidingThe Anzère Paragliding School is very active, both in winter and in summer. Two Instructors provide lessons leading to pilot licence exams, programme training courses as well as piloting flights in a twin-seat paraglide for beginners or fun-seeking passengers. Favourable atmospheric condition in the region has attracted many paraglide enthusiasts. During weekends it is not unusual to see over thirty colourful paraglides turning and gliding above the Anzère sky. Summer SkiingSummer skiing is possible at Crans Montana ( 20 min. by car), Saas-Fee or Zermatt (1h30 by car). Anzère has a large vertical rise (3,281ft). As a guide, skiers will generally not be skiing top to bottom all day as the range is too great. Skiers would typically stop a number of times when skiing top to bottom and only the fittest skiers would be able to ski top to bottom without stopping. Anzère has mostly beginner and intermediate runs so advanced and expert skiers may become a littled bored if they are feeling like a challenge. With only 14 trails, you will probably become familiar with the whole ski area quite quickly. Note: This page only contains ski area information.
