Overview

In addition to the overview provided here, please also see our review of Brighton.

Brighton Ski Resort was the first ski resort in Utah, and one of the first in the United States. Brighton was started in 1936 when members of the Alpine Ski Club built a rope tow from wire and an old elevator motor.

Brighton has a quite a good vertical rise (1,742ft). As a guide, skiers will typically stop 3 or 4 times when skiing top to bottom. Brighton has mostly intermediate and advanced runs so beginners may find it a little challenging. With 66 trails, it will take quite some time to explore the entire ski area.
