Overview

Copper is the perfect vacation destination for Colorado skiing and snowboarding. Copper is easily accessible - located just 75 miles west of Denver in the heart of Summit County, Colorado.
"If there were a mountain that had terrain for skiing it would be Copper Mountain. It is probably the most outstanding potential ski area in the Arapahoe National Forest, and possibly Colorado. The north facing peaks of Copper Mountain offer an excellent variety of development for expert, intermediate and beginner skiers. The unique thing is that all three varieties are separated by definite terrain features, and in all three cases the skier can ski back into the base area. The mountain has good snow and sparse tree cover created by old burns, which offers a tremendous opportunity to create natural type runs that blend in with the surrounding countryside."
Blessed with a nearly perfect mountain, Copper is one of Colorado's best ski areas, enjoying thirty years of awesome skiing and snowboarding.  Copper is one of Summit County's largest ski areas with over 2,400 skiable acres and averages 280" of snowfall during the ski season.

Copper Mountain has a good vertical rise (2,759ft). As a guide, skiers will typically stop several times when skiing top to bottom (most skiers would not be able to ski top to bottom without stopping). Copper Mountain has a good range of terrain for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. With an amazing 125 trails, make sure you get hold of a trail map before you set out.
