Overview
Geilo is a vibrant mountain village, situated 800 meters above sea level, between the main cities of Norway; Oslo and Bergen North Europe largest mountain plateau, Hardangervidda, set the scene for great experiences of the Norwegian high mountain nature. Also, you can experience the spectacular Norwegian fjords, not far from Geilo.
Geilo offers skiing for all levels with a total of 39 slopes. Snowboarders can revel in three terrain parks and Geilo is recognised as a world class area for kite-skiing. You also have the chance to try tobogganing, snowmobile racing, traditional kick sled, guided snow shoe adventure, guided cross country skiing or go husky dog sledding to mention a few.
Summer at Geilo offers spectacular nature and plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, fishing, rafting, horseback riding and so on. Geilo gives everyone a chance to find their own favourite activity.
In the town centre of Geilo you can find a variety of shops and all service facilities. Geilo also offers you a taste of the Good life, good food and drink, comfort and luxury.

Geilo has a relatively small vertical rise (1,240ft). As a guide, most skiers will be able to ski top to bottom without stopping, although most will typically stop a few times. Geilo has a good range of terrain for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. With 39 trails, most skiers would be happy to spend a week or so exploring the terrain at Geilo.
