My family have skiied at Golte on three separate holidays. We stay at our nearby house, Herons Place.

There are about 10km of pistes - mainly blue and red runs. I have met a number of competent Slovenian skiers who choose to travel from the larger resorts because they say it offers more challenging runs. There is one red run that, as a beginner, I find a bit too steep for comfort.

The ski hire centre are very friendly and helpful and gave my family lessons.

I think it is great for a short break but for a really experienced skier might be a bit limiting for a full week. However, there is another ski centre near Herons Place called Velika Planina that we will check out next time we stay at the house in winter.

Golte has a relatively small vertical rise (1,148ft). As a guide, most skiers will be able to ski top to bottom without stopping, although most will typically stop a few times.
