Questions and AnswersHere are common questions and answers relating to Mount Seymour... Snow Skiing QuestionsThere are currently no questions relating to Mount Seymour in the snow skiing category.Questions from Other CategoriesThe following questions were posted in various Yahoo's categories other than 'Snow Skiing' - hopefully they are relevant: When does the Olympic Torch go down Mount Seymour Parkway?Full question:Just wondering if anyone can give me an approximate date and time as to when the Olympic Torch will be carried down the Mount Seymour Parkway, in North Vancouver BC. I did check the website, but got very confused, and couldn't get a date or time. If anyone knows, please let me know! Thank you so much! Best answer:I know the date- Feb 10, as my son will be running beside it. I am trying to find out the time as well, so will post it when I find it. Okay, so I went to the site, and it arrives at Cates Park at around 10:30 am, so depending where you are, prob 10:45-1100 Is mount seymour, in british columbia, a good ski resort to learn how to snowboard for the first time?Full question:
Best answer:Any of the north shore mountains will be good to learn. However depending on when you go, Mt. Seymour will give you the worst feeling of anxiety, only because you're going to want to learn, and the place gets so busy. In regards to the north shore mountains, there are 3 options. 2 of them will need you to drive up to the hill, which is seymour and cypress, where as grouse has a tram in regards to the terrain, all 3 mountains have beginner terrain, so no worries there. in regards to lifts, 2 of the three mountains have quad CHAIRS to learn on giving you more room to get on and off the chair, Cypress and Grouse. Seymour has a rope tow [which isn't bad, but can be VERY frustrating to learn] and double chairs. in regards to facilities, all three are good, and have adequate areas apre and post snowsliding. My suggestion is grouse, because it's gotten everything you need, and you won't have to worry about driving up to the hill. All three have accredited instructors which are given the same information upon getting certified to instruct you to snowboard. Has anyone taken a bus up to Mount Seymour? or Grouse? or Cypress?Full question:Hi i plan to take a bus up to the mountains there, but do the buses cost like regular bus fares, and could i use my monthly bus pass that's for skytrains, buses, sea buses? Would i have to pay extra to use the bus there? or should i just hitch hike? Best answer:Keeping in mind that the regular transit system doesn't go as far as you need to go up those mountains in order to ski at any of them, then your regular transit fare or monthly pass will take you as close to them as the transit system goes. In the case of Grouse, the bus goes to the parking lot for the gondola that will take you to the top of the mountain. You pay separately, of course, for the gondola since it's operated by the mountain. Seymour has a shuttle bus from Parkgate Mall which you can get to by transit. Cypress has a shuttle from Lonsdale Quay, but the mountain is closed to the public from now till early March because of--you guessed it- the Olympics, so if you don't have tickets for that, forget it for now. Can you see the fireworks tonight from Mount Seymour? (in vancouver)?Full question:Someone told me that you could. I don't know where to go though. Best answer:Yes, you can but you will be seeing it from far away. Kind of like watching it in miniature. You will also not be able to listen to the music being played to go along with it. I hope this helps! Cheers, Petra M, Vancouver Does anyone know an easy way to beat seymour on final fantasy?Full question:I need help beating seymour when your on mount gagazet and I don't know how Best answer:easiest way i found to beat him was to get each of your aeons overdrives before battle. once in battle, summon them one by obe using the overdrive attack (he dismisses the aeon after the first attack). cheap but effective. on Final Fantasy X for the ps2, im on mount Gagazet and i cant defeat seymour. idk how. im trying more levling?Full question:
Best answer:Save up your gil, then buy armor from Oaka's brother on Gagazet that is not completely customized, then buy holy water, and customize the armor with the holy water to have some zombie resistance. Leveling up will help, and make sure you keep your highest health person in the party and have protect on him/her. You will need it. On Final Fantasy 10 I cant get past seymour while im on mount gagazet.?Full question:he keeps zombieing me and then full life and just dismisses any aeons I call and I dont have any zombie proff armor so what should I do??? Ive tried and spent a lot of time fighting him and training then fighting but his combos just kill me. Best answer:easiest way i found to beat him was to get each of your aeons overdrives before battle. once in battle, summon them one by one using the overdrive attack (he dismisses the aeon after the first attack). cheap but effective. Excluding Stanley Park, what are two or three of the best day hikes in Vancouver?Full question:I'm only going to be in Vancouver a few days, and want to choose the best hikes available when in town. I already plan on visiting Stanley Park, so there's no need to mention it. Some of the places I'm currently considering: Lighthouse Park Whytecliff City Park Buntzen Lake Baden-Powell Trail to Mount Seymour (via Deep Cove) Best answer:I also like Capilano Canyon. Not the suspension bridge - go a little past it, and park by the fish hatchery (free!). There are some nice trails there below the dam (and up to it), with the usual gigantic trees, etc. Even though you are close to the city, it is nice and wild there. Any experienced travelers know the Vancouver area BC?Full question:Hey, I'm trying to find out two things for when I visit Vancouver and hope someone knows the answer to these two questions. 1. - How do I get from Vancouver to Harrison Hot Springs and where should I stay there in order to be able to actually sit in a hot spring outside? 2. - How do I find out the cost for a 3 - 4 week Ski pass in mount Seymour N.Vancouver?? And how can I book one online and how do I get there from Downtown. Thanks again! Best answer:Partial answer only, this is all I know without checking websites as you have probably already done. You can get to Mt Seymour by taking their shuttle bus from North Vancouver. The Mt Seymour website has details of the location it stops at. You can get to that point on the bus in a couple of different ways, not very complicated. Which one is best depends on your starting point in Vancouver. You can research that by going to the Translink website and using their trip planner. You'll need an address or an intersection as a starting point, and then use Parkgate Village Shopping Centre as your destination. It's a shopping mall located at at the base of the road up to the ski area, and the Mt Seymour bus leaves from close to it. How do you get back on the airship on FFX?Full question:Okay I'm wanting to go and get Anima, but I have no idea how to get back on the airship... I'm at the point where you have to defeat Seymour Flux on Mount Gagazat, but I want to get all the aeons that I can before I have to face him. Can I do that or do I have to beat him and then I'll be able to use the airship later on in the game? Best answer:How can I defeat Seymour Guado on Mt. Gagazet in Final Fantasy X?Full question:Okay, after having permision from the ronso, I go up to mount Gagazet and there I meet up with Maestor Seymour again. He goes into this large machine and uses deadly attacks such as 'full life', and this attack he does with two swords that takes 2000hp away. I cast reflect on everyone, but he keeps on dispeling it. How do I defeat him? By the way, I don't have Hastaga for Tidus Best answer:cast hastega if you have it and have yuna cast protect on everyone. you just have to keep doing that whenever seymour dispels your work. protect will cut your damage in half when he does that attack you're talking about. the reason full life sucks is because before he uses it, he makes your character a zombie. use a holy water or esuna on the character before seymour uses full life. towards the end of the battle, use your aeons and their overdrives (only towards the end of the battle, because he kills the aeons with one hit). if you're still having a lot of trouble fighting him, try leveling up for a while before going to the battle again. Seymour Duncan Blackout Package?Full question:I was wondering if someone could tell me what exactly comes in the package, because musician's friend only says mounting hardware included, but does that include rings and all those other things? Best answer:if you look at the description it clearly states all mounting hardware is included ,including pots, jack and battery clip. Final Fantasy X Problem?Full question:I think I probably already know the answer to this question, but I wanted a second opinion. I am having SERIOUS trouble beating Seymour on Mount Gagazet. The fight will last about 2 minutes and all of characters will be toast. Am I not levelled up enough? What is the ideal HP to have on characters when fighting Seymour? What spells/attacks should I have with each character on the Grid? And if I need to level up, what is the best way to go about it? Monster Arena? Also, can you suggest any strategies for beating him? Much thanks! Best answer:For Mount Gagazet, it would be very helpful if Tidus had Hastaga. If Tidus can do Hastaga, and Wakka can do Silence Buster, then you can attack repeatedly while Seymour can not cast any spells. Grand Summoning Bahamut is nice as well. Gibson Les Paul Mods?Full question:(1) Could I put an FSK-401 Fernandes Sustainer in a Gibson Les Paul Axcess Standard (w/ Floyd Rose)? I was thinking maybe having a neck pickup volume pot, a bridge pickup volume pot, a master tone control (in the usual bridge pickup tone control spot), a sustainer intensity control in place of the neck pickup tone control and the two sustainer switches behind the bridge. I am pretty sure the above is possible (but if I'm wrong, do tell me!), but could I also (2) install a DiMarzio Dual Sound DP101 in the neck position and a DiMarzio D Activator Bridge DP220 in the bridge position, both mounted on Seymour Duncan Triple Shot Mounting Rings (which can split the pickups into single coils and switch them between parallel and series wiring)? If I was to do this, (3) will the sustainer still work even when the neck (and/or bridge) pickup is split to be a single coil or is wired in series OR parallel? Could I also (4) wire a push/pull pot between either pickups and the triple shots to reverse the phase of the two coils in either humbucker (so one push/pull pot in each pickup circuit)? And (5) have a push/pull pot to control the phase of the two pickups (not the two coils for one pickup) and (6) have a push/pull pot installed for changing the wiring of the two pickups (not the two coils in a pickup) between series and parallel. (7) Will the sustainer work even if any of the pickup coils are wired out of phase or if the 2 actual pickups are wired out of phase or in either series or parallel wiring? (8) Could all the pickups run off the same battery as the fernandes sustainer unit? (9) How much routing would this require and is there any way to completely avoid all routing? Sorry if this is all very long-winded and everything and also, I'd appreciate it if you could answer this like so: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Thankyou!!! @Henre, the sustainer would be in the neck positions - the switches would be mounted behind the actual floyd rose bridge... @Henre - Apparently, you can use any high output pickup in place of the one that comes with the sustainer kit. Best answer:2. No. The Sustainer only works if it's in the neck pickup position. Sorry... I need some help please wiring my new pickups in my guitar...?Full question:I've built a Telecaster and I'm putting a Seymour Duncan lil' 59 mini humbucker in the neck and a vintage single coil in the bridge. I'm wanting to wire them to individual volume controls using a les paul style 3 way toggle switch. The controls are mounted to a typical telecaster control cover as : ( switch vol vol ) Any advice or even better a diagram if you know where there is one would be brill. Best answer:I put a regular humbucker in the bridge and a traditional single coil in the bridge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojTzXGdLOrA Here is a diagram that shows you how to do what you want, just wire the one pickup like a single coil: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=mini_humbuckers When Regan's Treasury secretary tells you that the CIA is destabilizing Iran --- should you just ignore him?Full question:Now ten months later, US "black ops" is at it again, pumping out disinformation about the "stolen" Iranian election. The US media is again serving the government’s disinformation campaign. This despite the fact that on May 23, 2007, Brian Ross and Richard Esposito reported on ABC News: "The CIA has received secret presidential approval to mount a covert "black" operation to destabilize the Iranian government, current and former officials in the intelligence community tell...ABC News." On May 27, 2007, the London Telegraph independently reported: "Mr. Bush has signed an official document endorsing CIA plans for a propaganda and disinformation campaign intended to destabilize, and eventually topple, the theocratic rule of the mullahs." A few days previously, the Telegraph reported on May 16, 2007, that Bush administration neocon warmonger John Bolton told the Telegraph that a US military attack on Iran would "be a ‘last option’ after economic sanctions and attempts to foment a popular revolution had failed." On June 29, 2008, Seymour Hersh reported in the New Yorker: "Late last year, Congress agreed to a request from President Bush to fund a major escalation of covert operations against Iran, according to current and former military, intelligence, and congressional sources. These operations, for which the President sought up to four hundred million dollars, were described in a Presidential Finding signed by Bush, and are designed to destabilize the country’s religious leadership." The Iranian election protests, essentially by the westernized youth of Tehran who wish to be free of Islamic moral codes, have the hallmarks of orchestration. The protesters are color-coded with green wristbands. Their protest signs are in English and are obviously directed at the western media. Their chants are propagandistic and bear no relation to facts known by every Iranian. http://www.vdare.com/roberts/090618_waning_power.htm Today, the street demonstrations in Tehran show signs of orchestration. The protesters, primarily young people, especially young women opposed to the dress codes, carry signs written in English: "Where is My Vote?" The signs are intended for the western media—not for the Iranian government. More evidence of orchestration is provided by the protesters’ chant, "death to the dictator, death to Ahmadinejad." Every Iranian knows that the president of Iran is a public figure with limited powers. His main role is to take the heat from the governing grand Ayatollah. No Iranian, and no informed Westerner, could possibly believe that Ahmadinejad is a dictator. Even Ahmadinejad’s superior, Khamenei, is not a dictator, as he is appointed by a government body that can remove him. http://www.vdare.com/roberts/090617_iran.htm ******************************* The above was taken from Paul Craig Roberts Syndicated Columns Paul Craig Roberts [email him] was Assistant Secretary of the Treasury during President Reagan’s first term. He was awarded the Legion of Honor by French President Francois Mitterrand. ******************************** A Republican who served IN the halls of power in Washington DC HEY Page Here is Dr Paul Craig Roberts e-mail paulcraigroberts@yahoo.com You go tell the former Republican Treasury secretary --- he should move to Iran I dare you You disgrace Best answer:Yes of course! We should always believe the CIA, they can be trusted. We all know the CIA is committed to freedom and democracy. The CIA meddling in Iran? Ridiculous accusations. We can go to sleep peacefully because the government will protect us... Except of course that American covert operations in Iran are documented fact, not conspiracy theory. Bush initiated + escalated them, the Democratic congress funded it more than once and Barack Obama didn't stop them. On the US-Iran relationship, President Obama seems to be talking from both sides of his mouth. From one side we hear promising messages of dialogue and a "new beginning" with Iran; from the other side provocative words that seems to be coming right out of the mouth of his predecessor, George W. Bush. Furthermore, by occasionally parroting George W. Bush's militaristic song that, concerning Iran, "all options are on the table," President Obama has not disavowed his predecessor's favorite threat of "regime change" in Tehran. This not-so-subtle threat of "regime change" in Iran is not, however, limited to purely rhetorical statements such as "all options are on the table." More importantly, there are ongoing destabilizing covert operations against Iran that are sponsored by various agents or agencies of the US government. As Flynt Leverett and Hillary Mann Leverett, former National Security Council staff members, point out, "the Obama administration has done nothing to cancel or repudiate an ostensibly covert but well-publicized program, begun in President George W. Bush's second term, to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to destabilize the Islamic Republic."1 This means that "the U.S. is, in effect, conducting a secret war against Tehran, a covert campaign aimed at recruiting Iran's ethnic and religious minorities . . . into a movement to topple the government in Tehran, or, at least, to create so much instability that U.S. intervention to 'keep order' in the region is justified. http://www.campaigniran.org/casmii/index.php?q=node/8012 That's not some fringe website and there are many more serious sources who confirm America's covert operations ,AKA terrorism, BTW including the congressional records. I have no intention to ignore that when estimating the ongoing events in Iran. American covert operations against Iran inside the country are documented fact (more sources will follow) but so are the Israeli covert operations aimed at the Islamic Republic. From February "Israel has launched a covert war against Iran as an alternative to direct military strikes against Tehran's nuclear programme, US intelligence sources have revealed. " http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/israel/4640052/Israel-launches-covert-war-against-Iran.html I'm not naive or willfully ignorant enough to ignore that and that it is in line with what my gut told me as soon as I learned about this only confirms my resolve. I'm not brain dead yet as the first paragraph might suggest. As far as "comfy Westreners" goes a whole lot of Internet support for this "revolution" comes from Iranians who live comfortably in the US so if they want to use terms like that they should probably look in the mirror. One of the few Iranians who actually lives there and posts here does not take offense to my posts or my opinions and regrets how Westren Mousavi fans are speaking without thinking while thery haven't set foot in Iran for years. It's highly hypocritical to get "comfy Westrener" on us while you're in the US playing the revolutionary and being a hero in your own mind. No one in Iran backs your lies about Hamas and Hezbnollah or has a desire to be bombed. Who excactly is the comfy Westrener here? How much would this guitar sell for?Full question:What do you think? How much should I sell my ESP LTD Axxion guitar for? I own a 2 (or maybe 3) year old ESP LTD Axxion. Has around 3 to 4 nicks & dings (not more than that - I'm guessing that would mean it shows slight tear on the wear and shows signs of usage). But most of it is in extraordinarily great condition. All electronics are fully functional. Nothing on it has been changed or altered and it's very clean. It's quite good on the features (listed below): Neck-thru-body construction 25.5 in. scale Mahogany body 3-piece mahogany neck Rosewood fingerboard Custom "XX" inlays Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz pickups 2 volume & 1 tone control with 3-way toggle Black hardware Sperzel locking tuners Dunlop flush-mount Straploks TonePros locking bridge w/string-thru-body 24 jumbo frets I got it new for 1600 Canadian $. It should sell for a fair amount considering it's a rare guitar and on top of that, it was designed by Dave Mustaine (Megadeth). Thanks. Best answer:Just sell it a few hundred dollars below list price. But probably not below 1300. But if they are REALLY that rare, you may be able to sell it for full price if your a good salesman Can a person be a portal to another reality?Full question:Have you ever noticed how some people can instantly transport you to the past? I love visiting with my Grandfather because he takes me back to the 1940's, 50's and 60's. He just lights up like a light bulb when he starts talking about his fond memories of the past and I feel like I'm right there with him! If you've ever seen the movie Somewhere In Time with Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeves then you can better appreciate my question. I think if mankind ever does develop a time machine it will work directly with human consciousness instead of some mechanical contraption that bends space and time. Put on your armor, mount your steed, and let your imagination do the jousting! Best answer:I like to think of each person as dwelling in their own parallel universe. Every person has a conceptual image of the universe in their minds. All of our universes are based on the information we receive through our senses, so while we all live in one single real universe our many conceptual universes vary widely. It is pretty cool that we can, through a book, a movie, or a conversation, visit (to a degree) different universes, incorporate bits of them (in our own fashion) into our own, or share our own "realities" with others. I think the invention that you describe may function by connecting minds in such a way that one person would be able to experience another's consciousness directly as if they were that person, knowing everything they know, remembering everything they remember, see and feeling what the see and feel, believing what they believe, essentially having the other person's mind. That would be a trip. It would be pretty scary to allow someone access like that. It would be great and terrible. All the beauty, all the wisdom, all pleasures, all the imaginative creations, and all the ugliness, foolishness, pain, and dark secrets. I hope your invention never falls into the wrong hands. P.S. Now that I'm thinking about it, There is a device in the movie Strange Days that allows people to record experiences so that others can experience them in their own minds. Kind of the same idea, but a lot more limited. Seen it? I don't remember ever seeing Somewhere In Time. Warning: In case you ever think about renting Strange Days, there is a disturbing graphic rape scene in it. Will the US be at war to "liberate" Iran by fall ?Full question:Module body 2 hours, 48 minutes ago By Jennifer Loven, The Associated Press ADVERTISEMENT WASHINGTON - Dramatically hardening the U.S. reaction to Iran's disputed elections and bloody aftermath, President Barack Obama on Tuesday condemned the violence against protesters and lent his strongest support yet to their accusations the hardline victory was a fraud. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/090623/world/us_obama_iran Timmerman’s organization, Foundation for Democracy, is funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) for the explicit purpose of promoting democracy in Iran. According to Timmerman, NED money was funneled to "pro-Mousavi groups who have ties to non-governmental organizations outside Iran that the National Endowment for Democracy funds." The US media has studiously ignored all of these highly suggestive facts. The media is not reporting or providing objective analysis. Best answer:Good job. I noticed you didn't mention about Fantasy Destination X. i hope you still post it. I'm sure it will be as exciting as the real PPV. I want to coil tap my electric guitar and be able to put it in phase and out of phase.?Full question:My guitar is a Peavey Limited Series EXP. I recently had new 500k switches mounted in it and new pickups. it has a HB at the bridge and 2 single coils near the neck. It has a 5 way pickup selector. I wanna know if i can coil tap the HB and if so, how i do it or where i can get it done. Also, i want to be able to put the pickups out of phase. Can you do that to a guitar with only 1 HB and 2 single coils. I'm trying to get a tone similar to that of Jimmy Page. my guitar is no 59' les paul standard, but it sounds great. I have no real knowledge of the specific switches in my guitar and what the PU's are, other than that they are Seymour Duncan's. Best answer:You need to find an experienced guitar tech near where you live and pay them to do this. Ask at the local music store the real rockers buy at. Seldom Guitar Center. Powered by Yahoo!
