Overview

Ski Butternut is situated on Warner Mountain, located in The Berkshires. The ski area was opened in 1963 by Channing and Jane Murdock, who named the area after the large groves of butternut trees located in the basin of the mountain.

Ski Butternut has a relatively small vertical rise (1,001ft). As a guide, most skiers will be able to ski top to bottom without stopping, although most will typically stop a few times. With only 22 trails, you will probably become familiar with the whole ski area quite quickly.
