Overview
Sunshine Village is a major ski resort in Banff National Park, Alberta. The base of the Sunshine Village ski runs and lifts are accessed via its eight person high speed gondola, which takes guests from the car park (or bus terminal) to Goat's Eye mountain in seven minutes and to the upper Village area in thirteen minutes. From there, 107 trails spread out in a wide arc formed by the three mountain peaks surrounding the Village.
Sunshine Village has a large vertical rise (3,510ft). As a guide, skiers will generally not be skiing top to bottom all day as the range is too great. Skiers would typically stop a number of times when skiing top to bottom and only the fittest skiers would be able to ski top to bottom without stopping. Sunshine Village has a good range of terrain for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. With an amazing 107 trails, make sure you get hold of a trail map before you set out.
